Hands up, if you feel like you have got nothing to wear. As for myself autumn is not legitimate without a nice selection of quality knitwear. Currently my wishlist bursts with cashmere jumpers and turtleneck sweaters. Simple things are my favorite and yet the hardest to find.
I believe, perfume is one of the most personal accessories to date. Yet, there is a difference between a signature scent and a fragrance created especially for you. Having worked with everyone from Bella Freud to Agent Provocateur, Johnny Depp as well as Kate Moss and Helena Bonham Carter, Azzi Glasser certainly knows the ropes.
In 2015 the award winning perfume designer established her own brand “The Perfumers Story” and now offers a bespoke service for the rich and famous. Priced at £15.000 a bottle, her fragrances are anything but ordinary. Instead of focusing on key and base notes, Glasser gets her idea for a signature scent by the clients character, style and personal preferences. No worries, there are budget friendly versions available, too.
Post to a one hour brand session with the guru of perfume, I found my new favorite fragrance within seconds. “Twisted Iris” is a mix of grey tea and fig with top notes of bergamot, lemon, petitgrain combined with middle notes of violet, jasmin, clary sage, geranium and neroli, and base notes of cedarwood, moss, galbanum and musk.
Undoubtedly one of the best things about living in Berlin is picking up little things along the way and being able to consistently re-discover the city, especially once it awakes from hibernation. Whereas wintry cosiness makes way for balmy city-nights, spring cleaning and scented home-decor like flowers or a new set of light candles are inevitable.
Therefor my inspiration can come from many things. Everything I see, hear, smell – In Berlin an amazing idea can just wait for you around every corner. It´s the thrill of uncertainty which makes me want to browse through the streets and shops of the city, always in search of something I haven´t seen before. Quite naturally spring is the best time to do so. When everything starts to bloom, the days get longer and the people crawl out of their homes to get the first glimpse of sun.
For me personally the new season begins after I bought my first bunch of tulips. As most of my friends know I share a deep relation with flowers and couldn´t be happier about a pretty bouquet of spring peonies or fragrant lilies. Therefore the news about a collaboration of one of my favorite shops, & Other Stories in the area of Mitte, with florist Marsano Berlin instantly caught my eyes. Spring comes in pretty colours and so does this pop-up shop which is open everyday from 11am-8pm until April 9th. From soft pink roses to lilac or a minimalist composition of daisies – this is where you´ll find them all.
